Phyllis Russell has thirty years of professional experience with administrative and leadership responsibilities as CEO and senior staff in the areas of public policy, coalition-building, organizational and community planning, community initiatives and community development, grant-making, fund development and communications, as well as extensive volunteer leadership and agency consulting experience. She worked more than 20 years in the United Way system in St. Louis and Rockford, Illinois. Beginning in 2000, she spent seven years as Executive Director of Work, Welfare and Families, a public policy coalition taking on issues related to low income families and low wage work. 


Since June of 2007, she has been the Executive Director of the PTDA Foundation, which developed the Industrial Careers Pathway® initiative in 2005 to address the critical need for qualified sales and customer service employees in the industrial distribution sector. The initiative is currently supported by an Alliance of 24 industrial distribution and manufacturing associations serving members across North America.

The Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) is the leading trade association for distributors and manufacturers of power transmission and motion control products. Currently over 210 distributor firms, representing over 3,500 locations and 200 manufacturers of power transmission products are members.
